The proposed design study for the Conference Center building and the surrounding plazas are expressed as extrusions of the scorched desert soil patterns with lush vegetation and running water elements that make up a Wadi. The structure is situated at a topographically important location in the King Abdullah Financial District along a bend in the Wadi. This iconic building serves as focal point at the crossroads of the Wadi, creating a sense of place and destination. A mono rail transit system that is part of pedestrian ring road throughout the KAFD runs through the conference center.
